My cat Pepper is "hooked" on tuna kitty treats. She demands these EVERY day. Is it ok to give them to her? She is a BIG cat - 20 lbs., but very healthy. She could be a linebacker!

My cat Pepper is "hooked" on tuna kitty treats. She demands these EVERY day. Is it ok to give them to her? She is a BIG cat - 20 lbs., but very healthy. She could be a linebacker!
When cats are fed an appropriate complete and balanced diet, they are receiving all the nutrients they need, and receiving those nutrients in the proper proportions. When a cat is supplemented with table foods or treats,she is less likely to receive all the nutrients she requires, in the proper proportions. While feeding very small quantities of tuna treats will not be harmful to your cat, treats and table foods both add extra calories to her diet. Remember, it's important to maintain her in good body condition. Why not teach her some tricks and make her work for her treats? That way she can have her treats while getting exercise at the same time!
