1 What is the lifespan of a Golden Retriever?

1 What is the lifespan of a Golden Retriever? Larger breeds of dogs tend to have a shorter lifespan than smaller breeds of dogs. A toy breed like a toy Poodle might live to be 15-18 years old or older. A medium sized dog may live to be 12-15 years old. Large breed dogs such as a Golden Retriever usually live between 10-13 years. Finally, a giant breed dog like a Great Dane or St. Bernard may only live to be 8-10 years of age. Naturally these are just estimates and can vary for each individual dog.
